Are you a sugar person or a salt person?
Of course, you can love both–but if I forced you to choose, would you rather eat salt or sugar?
I often start my classes by asking people to choose their side: salt or sugar. Then I will pair a salt person with a sugar person so they balance each other when in preparing the recipes (this is really important–2 salt lovers creating a dish together can be…well, salty!)
Personally, I’m an ardent salt person and love crunchy, salty things, like crackers, chips and salted nuts. I’d happily forgo dessert in lieu of a second helping of the starchiest, saltiest thing at the table.
Instead of resisting these cravings, I make sure that healthy options are always available to me. One of those options are tortilla chips I make with coconut oil. I use a healthy whole grain tortilla and a nutritious oil–plus, portion control is built right in.
Check out this video where I show you how to make tortilla chips that taste like they were deep fat fried. If you’re a fellow salt lover, you can thank me later!
